Engineering design becomes useful when it respects the process, people, and place.
Start with the operating requirement and hazards. Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, software, cost, schedule, permitting, and commissioning. Document assumptions and interfaces so the finished design can be built, operated, maintained, and improved.
